St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church was built in 1842, and is located at 751 County Route 7 in the Hamlet of East Schodack. We are a small church family, and welcome all who are seeking Our Lord whether it be inside the church walls or outside. Our motto is our doors are open and everyone is welcome.

 

We are proud Sponsors of the Boy Scout Troop and the East Schodack Garden Club.

Our Outreach Program supports:
• St. Paul’s Women and Children’s Shelter in Rensselaer,
• East Schodack Fire Company,
• The Anchor’s Food Pantry in Castleton
• Doors of Hope in Sand Lake The World Hunger Program

St. Stephen’s Tag Sale: At Christmas we select a Senior in Rensselaer County who is in need and complete their “Wish List”. We also have a mitten, gloves and hats tree. All donations are given to Doors of Hope and the Anchor to distribute throughout the community.

The Boy Scout’s hold their Roast Beef dinners in our reception hall.

Hello St Stephens Family and Friends

This winter has been unusually cold and our furnace has been running on overtime!

This year we prepaid for our heating oil based on the past several years' usage.

In the past we have done a “bakeless bake sale” to ask for contributions to the oil fund, but our oil fund is again running low due to the extra consumption.

Would you please consider making a donation to help feed our hungry furnace this bitter winter.

So again instead of asking for baked goods to host a sale we would like you to consider the cost of baking ingredients, your time and talent - make it easy on yourself and know you are helping to do your part; place a donation directed to the oil fund. We hope you will give with a generous, willing heart. We appreciate your help to ensure the church has no frozen pipes or toes.

ANCHOR FOOD PANTRY NEEDS – In cooperation with other local churches we are part of the Anchor Pantry – this summer we are currently in need of the following:

  • Breakfast cereal

  • Canned fruit

  • Canned chicken and tuna

  • Canned stew, hash, pork and beans

  • Mac and cheese

  • Baking mixes
